BLINDED BY FAITH IN THE PASTOR
"I value the words that come out of his mouth because he is the prophetic voice that God has set me in this house to listen and follow.”
Are African Christians immature constituents of the gospel of Jesus.
Under the instruction of Pastor Lesego Daniel of Rabboni Centre Ministries dozens of followers dropped to the floor to eat the grass at his ministry in Garankuwa, north of Pretoria after being told it will 'bring them closer to God.' Penuel Mnguni, 24, the leader of End Times Disciples Ministries church in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, allegedly declared a snake a bar of chocolate (Chomp) for the congregation to eat.
Several naked women bending on a beach while a "pastor" kisses their behinds to apparently ensure they get the right marriage partners. Controversial SA pastor has found an interesting way to bring heaven to earth and it involves the "holy fluid of masturbation." End Times Disciples Ministries told his congregation that he could make the church floor as sacred as heaven. However, in order to perform this miracle, the controversial prophet told his church members to "undress in church and start masturbating until they reached orgasms." A pastor who made his congregation strip almost naked as he stepped on them to ‘receive the power of God’
These incidents generated a lot of debates about the activities of pastors with their own churches in South Africa and the rest of the African continent. The question is, what makes an African Christian different than a Black American Christian to do these things, is it a matter of having respect for authority verses a failure to respect authority. Is it a matter of being taught biblically verses personal learning or just being blinded by faith. As far as American Christians a Georgia pastor is showed critiquing his female congregants’ hair, weight and sex lives in front of a crowd. At a time when church attendance is shrinking in America, churches are gaining steam in Africa.
Christianity is not new it has been around for centuries in Africa so they know how to conduct themselves. Christianity is embraced by the majority of the population in most Southern African, Southeast African, and Central African states and others in some parts of Horn of Africa and West Africa. But there are younger and hipster pastors developing whose preaching is more about spectacular gimmickry rather than the gospel. The African Christians are not ignorant but just as it is in America there is a herd mentality among Black people when it comes down to Jesus and how he is presented, but most importantly the blinded faith in a pastor on both continents with hopes, dreams, and a truckload of ignorance with a thoughtless congregation in pursuit.
