GOD MAKES CHANGES WHERE IT IS HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE
The Civil Writer Magazine
We want to believe that God is active in history. Meaning being in a state of existence, progress, or motion in world affairs. This assumption comes from God's involvement in the affairs of the children of Israel. The Bible is clear that God was intimately involved in the affairs of the children of Israel but never involved in the common affairs of gentiles (humankind). Once out of Egypt God guided the children of Israel in a supernatural way to the promise land...
How has God intervened in other societal events that does not involve the children of Israel. Today God seems to only gets involved when there are no human solutions. Though many professing Christians cannot grasp it, the most awe-inspiring, mind-boggling, spine-tingling human events in earth's entire history are caused by humanity and can be resolved by humans. Slavery was created by man but there are no lessons to learn without mankind's solutions. The holocaust was created by man but there are no solutions without mankind's involvement being they were the authors of both events.
Where would the lessons be learned from God's interventions? Learning is a process of drawing connections between what is already known or understood and new information. Thus, prior knowledge is important to the learning process. You cannot learn from God, because he will not show his hand for getting involved or not. Slavery lasted approximately 90 years when did God get involved. The holocaust lasted for approximately 11 years when did God get involved. An atomic bomb killed 90,000 and 146,000 people in Hiroshima and 39,000 and 80,000 people in Nagasaki when did God get involved with these human events?
