HOW MANY CHURCHES TURNED DOWN TITHES  DURING THE FEDERAL SHUTDOWN

Some churches showed their value in people rather than the purse. Churches spent money on groceries for federal workers. They gave gift cards to help employees affected by the federal shutdown. A San Antonio Community Bible Church delivered bags filled with gift cards. Calvary Chapel International Worship Center in Severn organized about $7,000 worth of food to give to families affected by the partial shutdown that’s left 90,000 Marylanders without jobs. First Baptist Church in Huntsville, Ala., handed out $16,500 in grocery-store gift cards to furloughed federal workers, part of a community-wide effort to help employees affected by the federal shutdown.

This is what a church tithe is suppose to do. Bring praise and the gospel alongside gift bags with supplies, grocery cards and more, to bridge the gap until these families start seeing paychecks again.
