Since initial bombshell reports by The New York Times and The New Yorker in October 2017, more than 80 women have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual abuse ranging from harassment to rape. He is charged with predatory sexual assault, a criminal sexual act, first-degree rape and third-degree rape. But the arrests seem to have swiftly come in for two prominent black men who had seemingly avoided criminal accountability for claims of sexual assault that had swirled around them for years.
There are two legal systems: One for the white rich and powerful, and one for blacks.” The legal system is a place where waiting rooms for colored and white signs are still in effect metaphorically. Three people accused of the same crimes with a dozen or more women but only two have found their way behind bars. Is it a just-us or injustice system. The problematic nature of the term injustice is our sociological imagination illustrates the differences in perspectives of right and wrong, good versus bad and black versus white. And being these sexual crimes involves women of all cultures, colors and backgrounds it proves the injustice system is slow for women's justice. But justice is a long dulling process for white male criminals but injustice is a fast duelling process for black male criminals.
