IS THE LOVE OF JESUS TRANSITIONAL BASED UPON (IF)
The Civil Writer Magazine
A transactional relationship is a relationship where both (or all) parties are in it for themselves, and where partners do things for each other with the expectation of reciprocation. (If) is used to say that something must happen before another thing can happen. Is Jesus's love based upon a Condition of (If), subject to one or more conditions or requirements being met; made or granted on certain terms.
If you analyze Jesus's (love) it is based upon a condition (If). The Bible states no matter what we have done, Jesus does love us but (If) we will believe in Him. Is a parent's love conditional or unconditional? Is it based upon (If) only you believe that I am your parent(s) you will receive my love, or (If) only you are not sick or bad you will receive my love.
To define unconditional love is to say that a person (parent) loves a child unselfishly, that he or she cares about the happiness of the child and will do anything to help that child feel happiness without expecting anything in return. In other words, the definition of unconditional love is "without conditions" no (If), and, or but.
That which is conditioned on (If) is not love but a quid pro quo based upon a term of conditions. A quid pro quo is a favor or advantage granted or expected in return for something.
