LOVE IS LIKE A BLANKET
The word "love" is like a transferable blanket. It can be used on anything or anyone. Love is not suppose to be a distinguishable act between your family and a neighbor according to biblical scriptures to love thy neighbor as thyself which means giving someone the same personal touch. Like a blanket I can spread love over a human in a foreign country, over a car, over a pet/animal and over the ground as a farmer. Love is not a powerful word like care i.e., health, welfare, maintenance, and protection of someone or something. Love is just a feeling "Oh that's love" caring on the other-hand is an action. I could pull someone out of a burning car not because I love them but because I care for them.
Recently a man killed his wife over money he saved. At his sentencing he stated that he loved his wife which is a feeling. If he had cared for his wife he would have shown her protection and welfare rather than strangled her. Why do people go from love to hate? It is a feeling receptive to the environment at the time, but caring is a responsibility. Jesus said love your neighbor but was he showing love or care when he stated to the apostles, "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans.
