LOW IQ IN LOW IQ OUT BEING CALLED TO PREACH DOESN'T COME WITH INTELLIGENCE

To be called to preach is not a gift but a service you commit to or not with God. It doesn't provide you the ability to be a great orator, or a savant who exhibits exceptional skill or brilliance in some limited field (such as mathematics or music) and in this case the ability to call up scriptures. If you can call up scriptures, that ability was already there.

In my religious journey I have seen and heard many low IQ preachers who bedazzle the parishioners with sounds over sense like a plantation preacher. An intelligent preacher is not identified by sound or how many scriptures he or she can remember but his or her systematic theology approach, command of the Hebrew, Greek language, and philosophical point of view. You want to assume preaching is a packaged deal with a divine touch of intelligence to come with it but it does not, it is simply a request to serve or not.

Intelligence is not a prerequisite for a calling otherwise the church would have a minimum of two preachers in the pulpit and the wanna-be on the deacon board. If you are called you have to increase your knowledge and then intelligence will come.

The difference between knowledge and intelligence is Knowledge is the collection of skills and information a person has acquired through experience or study. Intelligence is the ability to apply that knowledge. Let me break it down for you, collecting information and applying information.
