WHAT'S IN IT FOR THEM AND HOW DOES IT SERVE US
The Civil Writer Magazine
“Once let the black man get upon his person the brass letters, U.S.; let him get an eagle on his button, and a musket on his shoulder and bullets in his pocket,” Frederick Douglass once said.
This served a good purpose for the free and enslaved negroes. Black men enlisting into the Civil war showed how their actions can serve a good purpose for others. But, does this same desire to get involved hundreds of years later in politics serving a reprobated mind serves a purpose for African Americans when it comes to supporting a person whose existence is cheating and lying. Shouldn't Black preachers and politicians be concerned about the least of them who have no voice or powers. Should Black men and women partake in a candidate Black or white, Republican or Democrat who has no good intentions for African Americans.
What's in it for them the Black ministers and politicians surrounding a man of poor morals. What good things do you feel poor morals can produce. And why would you support them or him for the sake of Black people or is it for your own notoriety and benefit. Or is it a Judas mentality for a kiss and tell with a pocket of gold in mind.
