WHERE TWO OR THREE ARE GATHERED TOGETHER IN MY NAME IS NOT AN INDICATION THAT THINGS WILL CHANGE

Some things in the Bible must be taken metaphorically as a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. Matthew 18:20. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them”. This is not a literally applicable statement for any group to be psychologically and spiritually synced unless it is a mate or family member. Now, I can relate to two gathered together and being perfectly spiritually in sync but not more. Furthermore Jesus said he was there and not that you will get results.

As an example: There was no shortage of prayers for Whitney Houston, when some 1,500 people packed Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church as part of a vigil for the troubled singer organized by her mother, Cissy Houston. Yet 1500 prayers didn't turn Whitney around from a path of destruction from drugs. What went wrong, being the criteria was there, two or more and led by all Christians.

Why do we fill everything works in the Bible when they don't. Afterall 11 disciples died horrendous deaths having prayed with Jesus in a group setting some 30 years earlier multiple times.

Thou of little faith you might say, but I say you shouldn't have to dig deep in the pudding for proof for anything involving a group with Jesus being there. A group prayer should produce evidence if Jesus is there in the midst but there are times it doesn't.
